I got this LP (numbered 92/100) version of CEMETERY URN second album directly from their guitarist, Andrew Gillon few days ago. A happy day for me, since I’ve been haunting for their albums for some times now. For those who haven’t heard about CEMETERY URN, they was formed in 2006 Andrew Gillon (Abominator, Bestial Warlust) and Damon Bloodstorm (Corpse Molestation/Bestial Warlust, Abominator, Kutabare). Their past line-up also coming up from Australia’s most brutal forces like DAMAGED, SADISTIK EXECUTION, DESTROYER 666 and recently they have Matt from BELLIGERENT INTENT on drums.
The band was primarily created to conjure Death Metal that was later to be labeled "Barbaric Australian Death Metal" which means they evoke the great brutality of early 90’s death metal from U.S and Swedish worship. CEMETERY URN sounding very old, blasphemic yet explosive the way only Kings like MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, DEATH, CANCER, REPULSION, GRAVE, did it back in the day. They managed to recapture traditional death metal riffs from doom, mid-paced to full blast tempo with perfect productions by Sam Johnson via Three Phase Studio.
The dominance spirits in CEMETERY URN are absolutely Andrew Gillon with his cold, dark and morbid riffs and Damon Bloodstorm’s deep and sick growls like the serpent from the underworld that many has compared to Craig Pillard, Martti (DEPRAVITY). I simply enjoy all the 8 tracks in it. Each songs have their characters and highlights.

In June of 2008, Cemetery Urn played 17 shows across the U.S. with ANGELCORPSE, SANGUIS IMPEREM, PROFANATICA, etc. In October 2010 the band toured the U.S. for the second time, playing 10 shows through Texas and up the West Coast alongside bands such as OBEISANCE, SADISTIC INTENT, WEREGOAT, THORNSPAWN, etc. While in December 2012, Faithcraft Productions in collaboration with guys from HUMILIATION and HEREAFTER has brought them here in Malaysia for one killer show in Penny Lane Studio, Sunway!!!
For those whom missed to watch them last year. Watch out! they promise to come again this year to promote the third album due to be released this year.
